Hi, please, introduce yourself!

First of all, I’d like to thank AliDropship for the opportunity to share my story here. So here it goes!

My name is Hogan Chua, I’m from Melbourne, Australia. I went to University after high school to study accounting and finance cause that was the “path”. I only choose those subjects cause I thought it might be useful later when I start a business. But to be honest, I don’t know how much it has helped my business and what I do now. Perhaps for some other industries it is useful but for others (such as making money online) it’s probably best to get real world experience.

I guess university wasn’t that bad, with the chance to meet some new friends and have fun. Plus, it gives you something to say when people ask you what you are doing.

I love to play badminton, that definitely takes my mind off everything and also great physical exercise. Other than that, I like listening to audiobooks, watching Netflix, watching food/travel videos or just going out for a walk to get coffee!

What’s your background in joining an ecommerce affiliate program or running an online business in general?

When I first started trying to make money online, I just learnt about it from blogs and forums. I started out creating a few types of blogs reviewing different products and I made a few sales here and there.

So I decided instead of that, it’s better to transition to selling SEO services which did quite well – for a few years until 2014. So long ago!

Then, in mid-2015 I started creating tutorials on YouTube.

Why did you decide to focus on working for an ecommerce affiliate program, after all? How did it all begin?

It’s a long story, but the short story is that when I was a kid, my parents owned a restaurant. They were always working, so we didn’t have the chance to travel or do many activities. So everything about affiliate marketing appealed to me:

  • Freedom
  • Low cost and affordability of scaling your venture
  • (Semi-)passive income
  • The opportunity to travel & work at the same time
  • Independence – it’s probably something I value more these days because creating the things you want is really rewarding.

My experience with affiliate marketing began back around 2010 or 2011 – wow, 10 years ago!

Back in the day, I was making review websites for making money online products/dating products from Clickbank. Haha.

From the end of 2011 till 2014 I was selling SEO services & doing some marketing for local businesses.

Then in 2015, I wanted to create a night market stall selling desserts (inspired after being involved in one in late 2014) and for that I needed money. So I was trying to figure out how to fund that venture.

Back in 2014 or early 2015, I had a recently built website on WordPress and an amazing drag & drop WordPress theme called Themify for a local car mechanic business.

At the time, most of the tutorials and builders out there were really bad.

So I realised that there was an opportunity on YouTube for me to create a video to show people how to make a WordPress website and monetize with web hosting.

And that’s where it all started.

I guess the moral of the story is that you have to start from somewhere and eventually you will see the opportunities. Once you see that opportunity, you have to take the leap.

How did you learn about AliDropship products and its ecommerce affiliate program?

I stumbled across AliDropship when I wanted to start dropshipping just to test some products for a new ecommerce venture. So I was looking for a plugin that could add that functionality to my WordPress website.

So I looked at a few options and finally ended up purchasing AliDropship plugin.

At first, I was a bit skeptical about the plugin and whether it would work well or not.

Although I love WordPress, themes, and plugins, sometimes they don’t work well together or aren’t easy to set up and use.

Surprisingly, AliDropship was super easy to use and importing products from AliExpress was a breeze – much better than I expected.

At that time, there were so many Shopify tutorials on dropshipping using Oberlo, but none on WordPress. So since it was a great product, I knew other people would appreciate it too and that inspired me to create a video on it.

So then I signed up for the AliDropship Affiliate program and it was a breeze too.

How do you rate your experience of participating in this ecommerce affiliate program?

There are lots of things I like about AliDropship affiliate program:

  • The commissions: they are among the highest ones
  • A very simple and easy dashboard to track commissions
  • The opportunity to create deep links (i.e linking to other pages)
  • A great product means conversions are quite good
  • Julia, my affiliate manager has been a pleasure to work with, answering all concerns I had very promptly

But overall, what I love about AliDropship is their great documentation, helpful guides, resources, additional services, plugins, themes and anything that helps people to create a better dropshipping store.

This was the thing that impressed me the most because not many WordPress plugins do this. And I’m not saying this because I’m an affiliate – you can see for yourself 🙂

Do you participate in other ecommerce affiliate programs? What’s your average income?

Yes, I also promote some web hosting, several WordPress themes, SEO software, numerous digital/virtual products. Plus, I’m a member of Amazon Associates.

Generally, summing up all the affiliate programs I’m a part of (including AliDropship), it would be over 5 figures per month or so on average. Right now, it’s on the lower end and hopefully working up to mid-5 figures by end of the year.

But the great thing about it, is that my commissions are paid in USD – so a conversion to Australian Dollars (AUD) is around x1.35. One of the great things about affiliate marketing is that you could be living in Asia or a country where cost of living is cheaper and earn USD!

How exactly do you promote these products? What’s your advice for fellow affiliates?

The main strategy I use to promote the products is to create videos on YouTube. Also, I create content for my website and blog. Videos and articles both work well together. But if you are starting out, choose ONE medium and focus on that.

If you like writing and don’t want to be on camera, then create a blog.

If you don’t like writing, then make videos. You don’t even have to show your face! If you are doing tutorials, reviews, you can use something like Camtasia (PC software) and Screenflow (Mac software) for screen recordings.

Overall, do videos if you can because there’s a lot of opportunity there – simply because most people don’t want to put themselves out there.

There are tons of videos teaching a ton of affiliate marketing strategies, but definitely I would recommend either one of those two. The reason is, both primary traffic sources come via search. And every day there is a consistent amount of people searching for things.  That’s how affiliate marketing can be fairly passive!

If you compare this to promoting via social media platforms such as Instagram, Facebook etc., those can work, too, but not as passive channels. They are more one-off and it’s not as natural to promote your links to your audience everyday.

If your primary focus is monetizing through some ecommerce affiliate program, then I would recommend creating how-to videos, reviews, comparisons, and top-10 selections. These types of content are great because it’s a few steps away from the purchasing.

Of course, you can create other types of content, too, that may work well for audience building/traffic – it’s really up to you. This is also one of the pros of affiliate marketing: you can be super creative.

How do you research your target audience to connect with it better?

  • First, I deal with my own problems that can be solved with the products I’m promoting
  • I read the YouTube comments/emails I receive
  • I look at questions people ask on Quora, Reddit, or niche forums

These are the three main ways, and I definitely recommend trying to solve your own problems first. It’s the easiest and best way because 80% of the time your audience is facing the same problems as you.

You can create a simple user profile on Milanote. It helps to know what you should include in your video, what to talk about and what questions you can address in your content.

Being an affiliate marketer, treat your content as your product. Just as if you were to open a restaurant, your main product would be the food. So if you know your customers, you can tailor your menu to the food they love.

It’s very simple, but I think most people probably don’t think about it this way. Rather, they just think about the commissions. But it’s the content that gives you commissions! And to create great content, you need to understand the users/readers/viewers.

What are the most difficult challenges of being an affiliate marketer?

The most challenging thing about affiliate marketing is definitely staying focused. Since a lot of time is spent on the computer researching, writing, testing, there can be a lot of distractions.

And especially because I’m normally working alone, without much schedule, it’s very easy to work a bit, go out and come back.

To deal with this, I try to get to sleep a bit earlier. I also downloaded some Chrome extensions to block YouTube Home screen and Facebook. I’m still working on this, but I think once I do, it will make the biggest difference.

Due to COVID-19, we recently came out of a very long 112 day lockdown where we were limited to just travelling within 5kms. That was tough. But I know a lot of others who have had it much tougher, so can’t complain much. Luckily, now the cases are under control here and hopefully we can get a vaccine soon. Then we can all get back to “normal” in mid-2021.

In terms of income, the pandemic didn’t make too much difference. Luckily, I could keep working. The thing that it made me realise was that I was fortunate to learn these skills. And it just gave me more overall clarity of what I want to do in the future.

How much time does it take you every day to manage your ecommerce affiliate programs?

I don’t really track how much time I spend on my online business. I probably should, though, to start working more efficiently and to be more productive.

But generally, for a half of the day (around 10-12+ hours), I’m probably doing something related to it. It can be researching, testing, recording, editing, strategizing, reading, watching useful videos on different topics or doing some general accounting and paperwork, etc.

The biggest demand on time is going to be the content.

It’s kind of funny, though. One of the main reasons to get into affiliate marketing for me was the passive income and the chance not to do much work. And I think that is probably on a lot of people’s mind, so I want to touch on this.

What I’ve learned over time and getting older, travelling and doing the things I thought I wanted, it’s not about working less anymore. Rather, it’s about progression, creating something amazing/helpful and enjoying the process of it. It becomes almost like a game, a sport.

Could you please share an image of what your desk or workspace looks like?

I have two main workspaces. I try to move around a bit because working at the same place can get uninspiring at times. The first picture is my home office and the second one is my living area desk.


I hope everything gets back to normal soon, so I can travel back to Asia: I love the weather and food there.

How has your life changed?

Honestly, I’ve never had a “real” full-time job so I don’t know what it feels like to work in an office type of environment. I only worked part-time as a waiter at my dad’s restaurant during high school and university. So, if we were to compare it with being a waiter, the biggest difference is that because of being able to make money online, you can make money 24/7/365 and work from anywhere. No commute to work. My own schedule!

Most of my family/friends have no idea what it is I do exactly. I don’t really mind, and I’d rather be low key anyways. I remember at a time, I felt pressure to find a job and that people didn’t believe me. But looking back, it’s a good pressure to have and it’s very natural when you are trying something a bit different. All the enemies you have are just in your own mind.

What’s your advice for our readers – those who have already signed up for some ecommerce affiliate program and those who are considering it?

My advice for those who are considering it is that affiliate marketing is like a sport. It will take time to get good at it and to start earning a decent amount per month. So don’t expect it to be a get-rich-quick scheme. Don’t worry about finding the perfect niche, perfect product to promote: it takes trial and error.

If you already are part of an ecommerce affiliate program and want to see better results, focus on creating the best content you can, something new, unique. Instead of trying to write 10 articles, focus on just 1. The same is true for videos: instead of 10, focus on 1. Make it to the best of your ability because to make commissions, you need to be ranking on the first page. And bad content isn’t going to rank well – hence, no traffic and no commissions.

Doing the hard things, putting in the time and effort is the shortcut to success.

How Sam Went From 0 To $72K+ In Sales In 6 Months After Starting A Business With No Experience

Hi, I’m Sam, a web designer from New Zealand. Oh, and I also play guitar in a metal band.

What’s your story of starting a business with no experience?

It has all begun with some random YouTube ad I saw about dropshipping. The idea seemed interesting to me: the lower risk meant there was no reason not to try. So I started googling further, and discovered AliDropship plugin, and that’s basically the whole story 🙂

At the beginning, obviously, I had web design experience as that’s my core profession, but no ecommerce knowledge or background whatsoever. In this context, the WooCommerce plugin of course, was a game changer. It’s simply vital to the business, it would not be possible otherwise to even start it.

How does your business perform now?

I keep running 1 WooCommerce store only, and here’s what it made in the first 6 months of its operation:

Quite unexpectedly, I got the first few sales quickly – it was really surprising. I think the reason is, I just found a good product range. Actually, I belong to my own target audience, too 🙂 That’s why I can easily sort out the products that I would use and enjoy myself.

In general, my strategy is to find some products with a growing demand for them, and become their ‘early seller’ in my target region. Probably, the pricing approach helps winning more customers, too – I just go about a 50% margin. Every now and then, I add more products to keep my offer relevant – what’s also crucial, it helps with SEO a lot. While evaluating and choosing AliExpress sellers to partner with, I pay the closest attention to their speed of shipping and communication rating.

How do you promote your store?

As I mentioned, SEO is an important business aspect in my case. I rank well now in Google, but organic traffic is not my only source of buyers. I also run some Google Ads and Facebook Ads to reach more specific customer audiences. Per month, it costs me about $500-$1,000 on average to advertise the business.

Is there anything special in terms of daily store management when you’re starting a business with no experience?

With the right software, technically speaking, it’s not really time-consuming even if you don’t have previous experience. It only takes me about 1-2 hours per day to manage my store, and I mostly spend it on order processing and sorting out clients’ enquiries.

Human factor matters a lot, at the same time. It’s just fascinating how differently people can react to issues like delays. Some are lovely and endlessly understanding and others are not! That’s why I’d say that managing shipping time expectations is the biggest challenge I have to face as a business owner. I have to state shipping times very clearly and have a set of policies published on my website to help me out with this part. If there’s an issue with shipping, I just use these guidelines to explain what’s going on. But sometimes, of course, I have to offer discounts if delivery takes way too long and the customer is unhappy.

How has your life changed?

I’m a business owner now – I registered it officially, and thankfully, there aren’t many requirements for me (mostly, simply declare my income for tax purposes). There’s certainly a lot more freedom! I only work 2 days at my regular job now. My friends and family are supportive, and my plans to tour Europe with my band start seeming more real 🙂

Any words of wisdom you’d like to share with those starting a business with no experience?

It’s very worthwhile even if it takes some hard work!

Hi, I’m Faraz Syed from Mumbai, India! I’ve got a Bachelor’s of Engineering in Information Technology and now work as a SAP Consultant, combining it with running an online business from home.

I’m a tech enthusiast and an avid gamer, always on the lookout for the latest updates in all things tech. I have a driven passion for entrepreneurship and I value the process more than the position. I also love exercising to keep my mind and body fit.

With your education and interests, you probably have a solid background in ecommerce, do you?

No, actually, I had no knowledge or experience in ecommerce/trade before. Once, I had sold some of my unwanted stuff online, and that’s it. The very idea of being able to reach an unknown person and selling to them was new to me and very exciting.

Apart from this, I had no experience in ecommerce whatsoever. I have had a rising interest in dropshipping since 2019, though…

Why dropshipping?

The very fact that you do not have to maintain and stock up inventory beforehand is a huge plus point of dropshipping. It lets you get started with minimal investment in terms of time and money.

Also, being able to target customers overseas or anywhere in the world where there is a demand, for that matter, makes it one of the most lucrative online businesses out there.

So, how did you begin exploring this online business opportunity?

As I mentioned, I first got curious about dropshipping in 2019, but wasn’t fully convinced until mid-2020. Before starting dropshipping, I had an uneasy time choosing the right platform. I read all about both Shopify and AliDropship to learn about their pros and cons, watched several YouTube videos reviews and then finally came to the conclusion that Alidropship would best serve the purpose for me. I decided to go for it after I read about Alidropship’s ready-to-go premium dropshipping stores with no monthly subscription fees.

That’s how I got a Premium dropshipping store, which is basically a turnkey ecommerce website. I also bought an installation package to have most of the work already done by the moment I start, and that’s how the story began!

Working on your turnkey ecommerce website so carefully, did you achieve your first sale quickly?

Yes, quite! I had my first sale on the very first day of launching Facebook ads and I firmly believed that I was going in the right direction.

It was like a bolt of excitement and happiness! I remember working late at night on the marketing setup and waking up to the most pleasant surprise: my first sale.

It was an absolutely amazing feeling. All of the hardwork and dedication put in by me and the team at Alidropship had finally got me to the result I was aiming for.

How is your store performing now?

What’s your niche and product strategy?

The turnkey ecommerce website I’ve got was a copy of the Gaming store. For me, it was an overlap between my personal interests and the growing market demands, the gaming niche. Also, because of the current pandemic, people have been inclined to sit at home and game more. Plus the launch of big gaming consoles this year also made me think about getting into this niche as soon as possible to reap the benefits.

On another positive note, with a familiar niche, it was pretty obvious for me who my target audience would be. I got great help from the Marketing guide which was part of the Alidropship’s turnkey ecommerce website offer. It gave me the exact interests and demographics of the right people to target! Of course, having my own understanding of the gamers’ community is also great.

The products themselves, as well as the suppliers, were hand-picked by the team at Alidropship. I must say the products are excellent and the suppliers have been equally co-operative. Currently, I don’t even have to add any more products, but I would like to add new items depending on the market needs in the future.

How do you promote your store?

I have been promoting my store on almost all social media channels. To explore various options, I have even tried marketing on Twitter and Microsoft Bing Ads. I found little success with them and eventually had to move away from them.

Thanks to experimenting, I figured out that Facebook, Instagram and Google Ads work best for me. They account for almost 90% of the sales.

Facebook and Instagram were the platforms which have helped me get my first milestone achievement – my first sale – and I invest in advertising on them mostly. As I said, I got a Marketing package that contains already made and tested Facebook ad materials with the right audience settings, and I rely on these precious insights heavily. Though I need to say, Facebook is a great marketing tool, however you have to be very careful of not violating the ad policies which can get you banned from advertising. I would advise to read through their ads policies before beginning to advertise on Facebook.

Another strategy I tried on Facebook was Influencer Marketing. For that, I tied up with a Facebook streamer who agreed to promote my product in exchange for freebies. Plus, to make my social media accounts look busy, I’m using Social Rabbit plugin to save time on the pages running.

Also, as an addition to social media promotion, I post regularly on relevant threads concerning my product on discussion sites like Quora and Reddit. I work on SEO, run an on-site blog, and every now and then, I get some organic sales 🙂 Finally, I’ve got the Lead Magnet set up on my site to collect visitors’ mailing details and run email marketing, too.

What can you say about managing this turnkey ecommerce website daily?

It hardly takes me around an hour of effort daily, sometimes 2 hours when I have to work on marketing. I can easily juggle it with my current day job and responsibilities.

All of the Alidropship solutions have helped immensely in some way or the other to cut down my management time – and to get me more sales. Social Rabbit plugin has helped me gain a lot of followers on social media, especially Instagram. The Abandoned Cart plugin has helped me recover abandoned carts. The Urgency Add-on has helped to reduce carts abandonment by increasing the checkout rate. The Bulk Discounts has helped me increase my AOV (Average Order Value). And of course, the main Alidropship plugin has made managing and fulfilling orders as easy as a breeze. And I would be missing out on a key factor if I don’t mention it – the efficient and quick support from the Alidropship Support team has made managing the store an enjoyable experience.

That’s why I have enough time to invest in marketing. It’s definitely the most time consuming yet the most crucial aspect of an online business. The more effort you put into designing ads, the better the results turn out to be. A good marketing campaign is an investment that gives a lot in return. At a certain point, you get a hang of it and then you start creating new ads that drive more sales in less time.

What are the biggest business challenges for you? How are you dealing with them?

For me, it has been logistics. Due to the current pandemic situation all over the world, there have been instances when the product delivery gets delayed. And you cannot do much about it other than have patience and keep delivering the same message across to the customer. It is therefore ideal if the supplier has a warehouse in the country of sale for faster shipping times when you’re scaling up your business.

For this particular challenge related to delayed logistics, it’s best to send a direct message to the customer and inform them beforehand of any unexpected delays. For me, it was taken care of through a dedicated page on my premium store. There, I clearly talk about the current challenges in delivery due to the pandemic and set the tone with the customer. This way, I allow them to be ready in case of any unforeseen events. But even after that, it is likely that the customer may demand a quicker delivery… It’s best to be as polite with them as possible and communicate the same to the customer, maybe throw in a discount coupon to brighten up their mood 🙂

To summarize, if you know that you’re doing it right, always remain calm and composed. Deliver the same message directly to the customer and try to compensate for the problem with coupons and free gifts.

Do you have any memorable customer stories?

You can always run into some buyers who apparently start wondering about their package from the very next day they place their order. Such a thing happened to me, too. One of the customers started complaining about the slow delivery of their order even though it had been just 3 days since they placed their order. I always maintained an air of calm and politeness with them assuring them that their product will be delivered soon. But, even that didn’t help! Eventually they raised it to a refund claim with PayPal, the payment provider I was using. Finally, the product got delivered in time and the claim was settled in my favor.

There also was a funny story with my Facebook ads. Under one of my Facebook posts, a brother-sister duo had a kind of a funny heated discussion. They were arguing over who would buy the product as a gift for the other. It was funny to read, plus it was also increasing the engagement rate of my ad – and thereby, its relevance. So after a while, when the argument was getting nowhere, I decided to step up as the Facebook Page admin. I commented and pointed out that the 50% off sale would last only today. Moments after that I got a PayPal notification from the elder sister who made the purchase… instant happiness, right there ! 🙂

Did you register your business officially? What are the requirements in your country?

Yes, I did, as this will also help me with taxes spent on Facebook and Google ads. Here in India, you need to have a proper Identification document like the Passport, PAN or Aadhar Card, as it’s called here. Any citizen can apply for a business registration, it’s a fairly simple process and can be done online.

How has your life changed? What are your plans for the future?

This business has made me self-reliant. My friends and family are happy and see this promising turnkey ecommerce website as a great achievement. That means a lot to me.

Although I am on my path and yet not there, I do feel great to have a side hustle which can generate me a passive income. It feels awesome to be a business owner knowing that you can drive it to success and it is in your hands completely. I feel a sense of satisfaction. The journey doesn’t end 🙂

I plan to further create a series of stores belonging to different niches that can all work at the same and generate streams of income. I plan to tap into one-product stores of my winning products and scale them to their maximum potential.

What can you advise our readers – those who already run their stores and those who didn’t start the business yet?

For those who’re already running their stores, you know what it takes to take it off the ground. Being customer-centric is the essence of ecommerce. You can probably take a hit with shipping and better quality of products than going with cheaper alternatives, because in the end it’s the customer who has put in that trust in you to send them their product. Also, keep scoping the markets for new hot products that can sell, ride the trend wave for maximum profits and then decide which ones to continue with further.

For those who have not yet started with dropshipping, I would like to state an old Chinese proverb…The best time to plant a tree was 10 years ago, the second best time is “right now”! Hi, I am János, 33 years old. Currently, I live in Hungary with my wife and with my newborn daughter. I work as a web designer and manage my AliExpress-based dropshipping business.

Can you sum up your experience of launching a part-time business from home?

To begin with, before I launched this business, I had some limited ecommerce experience. I have built some basic websites before and was selling products at local online marketplaces. Also I had a basic dropshipping business in the UK with a local dog bed producer.

I liked this dropshipping model because this is the easiest and most efficient way to start an own online business with minimal risk. So, after I came across an online tutorial on YouTube about building a WooCommerce-based dropshipping store with AliExpress, I decided to build and start my own one. I followed the AliDropship advice from their YouTube tutorials, and here I am!

What’s the current performance of the part-time business you’re running from home?

I still have one store only, and here’s how things are going:

To keep it operational, I use the AliDropship plugin, AliDropship hosting, and AliDropship Google Chrome extension that helps me generate invoices easily. I’d say these tools are more than simply helpful: they are the basis of starting an online store.

In the near future, I’m planning to start using some more automated tools for better store management – I know there’s plenty of amazing solutions to explore!

Have you changed anything in your product strategy?

I continue working in the niche that is closely related to my wife’s favorite hobby. To find a suitable product, I make some Internet research dedicated to this particular item, and try to find the best supplier on AliExpress. While evaluating the product quality, I consider its rating (at least 4 stars is mandatory). I also look at the number of sales, contents of the buyers’ reviews, and the available shipping methods. I have a more or less stable product range which mostly includes evergreen products, and simply multiply the original price by 2 or 3.

Since the sales are growing, I am planning to order some products in bulk. That’s how I could serve the customers more efficiently and probably sell these products in wholesale for businesses. I have discovered that the products that I would like to sell in B2B are not really available in our country, or the price is too high, which is why it seems like a fitting opportunity. So, yes there are some changes, or improvements to the product strategy.

What can you tell about promoting the store?

I do not really promote it: most of the orders are coming organically from Google. Still, I share some posts in Facebook groups sometimes, and have plans to experiment with some of the promo channels I haven’t tried yet. But as for now, I don’t even spend any money to advertise the business.

How do you manage this part-time business from home?

My business is registered officially – it’s enough to simply be self-employed to make it happen. A good accountant can set it up in a day.

I spend around 2-3 hours per day on administration to process orders and answer customers’ messages. Most of my clients’ questions are about lengthy delivery times. To deal with their worries, I do my best to keep buyers updated all the time. As a rule, they are understanding and there is no trouble. I communicate with the customers in a polite way and can even offer a discount coupon sometimes.

I enjoy the opportunity to work from home, or from any other place with internet connection. Now, I have much more freedom, but much more self-discipline is necessary as well. My friends and family, who used to be a bit sceptical about my venture, now witness the business performing well – and they’ve changed their minds!

In the future, I would like to work more on my current store, and start at least one more when I have enough time. I don’t really have it now, because our baby arrived last December. 🙂

Earlier in my career, I was active in the hotel industry, restaurants and cafes. I have lived and been in business in New Zealand, USA, and in the Netherlands.

Nowadays, I live in the South of Spain and run a B&B and organize yoga retreats for international guests together with my wife.

Have you previously thought about launching a successful home-based business online?

Yes, about 15 years ago I started to experiment with 2 online stores.

There wasn’t a well-developed and widely known dropshipping business strategy at that time, so instead, I had to go to France, Paris, to buy wholesale at auctions and negotiate with clothing brands to get their surplus stock. I remember a lot of work for small margins and a lot of trouble with shipping.

Furthermore, I had an experience of building websites with WordPress. I know a lot about the online tourist industry worldwide which helped me figure out the Internet world.

With such a diverse experience, why did you eventually choose the dropshipping model for your new business?

Living in the south of Spain is great with its 300 sunny days, and running a B&B is very rewarding, no doubts! However, it also gets a bit boring for an entrepreneur…. 🙂

I wanted to do something without leaving my beautiful home. Dropshipping came to mind: a friend of mine was selling cutlery in Ukraine with dropshipping while living in Germany. That got my attention.

So I did my research on this business model, and with all my experience, I thought I would give it a go. I simply asked my friend Google what is the best dropshipping platform… and that’s how I bought a Premium Store from AliDropship.

What happened next?

Legally speaking, I registered this business as an autonomo in Spain: to do that, you need to have your business registered for VAT, and have a physical address.

To set the store in motion, I put in a lot of hard work. There were lots of extra solutions I added to make it top-notch: Social Rabbit, Abandoned Cart, Facebook Business, Upsell, Urgency, GA Enhanced Ecommerce, Gift Box, Purchase Upsell... You see, when I do something, I do it all the way! Only then you can be sure you will be successful.

After a couple of trials and errors, I started to get the hang of it. Eventually, all my effort – tuning the website, getting the right products, making the store look trustworthy and making the product descriptions unique, reading about Facebook ads and learning while doing it – paid off!

5 weeks after the start, I had 4 product ads running and no sales. but then late at night 1 single purchase for $89 and it wasn’t even any of the advertised products. But still I was very happy. It gave me hope.

Would you already say you’re running a successful home-based business? What’s the secret?

Even though there is no consistency yet, I already have some really good sales!

The store is doing well, and I keep experimenting with products and niches. As an entrepreneur, I am already looking for an opportunity to launch a new one. I like the changes it has brought into my life: I am busy and learning new things! I would love to grow my niche and become the biggest industry player in the world 🙂

One of the niches I am trying now is something I am passionate about and know well. This makes it easier to understand what the target audience is and what it is looking for. Thanks to my life experience and huge online research I conducted, I have a clearer idea of my potential buyers.

Keeping in mind what your target audience wants is essential, as well as analyzing every aspect of a product. I use AliExpress as the source of products and I’d say that at the moment, the marketing side is even more important to me than supplier-related tasks. This will change as the sales pick up, though!

Which marketing strategy are you using to make your home-based business successful?

I mostly work with paid ads: Instagram has proven to be the most efficient marketing channel for me. On average, promotions cost me about $750 per month.

Knowing upfront how much I’m going to spend on marketing, I understand what the right product price should be to compensate for the expenses. I believe a lot of dropshippers have no idea what it costs to make a sale. But if you want to be successful, you will need to know. Exchange rates, PayPal costs, purchase costs, VAT, shipping fees – they all play a part, too!

What can you say about the managerial routine?

It takes me about 4 hours every day to manage the store. Fine tuning the store and the ads is the most time-consuming part, and getting the marketing right is the ultimate challenge. So, I Iearn learn learn, and then learn again – that’s the only way to deal with it!

Things happen, of course. Once, I closed my store and was not aware of it for some time… Yes, even old entrepreneurs can make stupid mistakes 🙂

Thankfully, I don’t experience serious customer service issues. I found out that if you deal with the incoming requests straight away and directly, the buyers are more open to you and willing to understand the situation. So, don’t be afraid, just call or write them back!

Summing up your experience of launching and running a successful home-based business, what can you advise our readers?

It is mostly about the Facebook/Instagram marketing that you need to get right and this takes time, money and patience.

One thing I learned as an entrepreneur: there is never a sale without having costs. This is SO true for the dropshipping business: you have to be willing to spend money to make money. There are a lot of success stories out there, but they all had their failures and have spent more than they thought they would.

So, keep your head down and work at it! It takes patience, learning and just doing it to make things happen. If you can dream it, you can achieve it!

Hi, I’m Marco Silva from Portugal, currently living in the UK. I have worked in a university in Portugal for 11 years, and then moved to Venezuela in 2011. There, I have worked as a Math and English private tutor, and eventually relocated to the UK in 2015.

In England, I have been working as a postman, and in April, 2020, I launched a part-time dropshipping business.

Why did you decide to get into dropshipping?

I was looking up different options of starting an online business. The dropshipping model seemed attractive to me for two main reasons. First, it does not require a big investment of money to start. Secondly, I really liked the idea of selling a product before I had even bought it.

Researching the providers of low-investment business startup options, I found AliDropship’s YouTube channel and got interested in their concept. I contacted the support team and asked for more information about the options. When I realized that I could start a business for $300, I decided to go ahead with it.

How did your low-investment business journey begin?

I have started dropshipping with AliExpress by buying a Premium Store from AliDropship. I’ve chosen the Buy It Carl store to be copied for me.

Three days after I had the store running, my first sale happened. Earlier, together with my wife, we have posted some of our products on our store’s Facebook page. After that, we began inviting our friends from our personal Facebook pages to like our Facebook Business page. My wife’s workmate was one of the many who accepted the invitation. She liked the product shown in one of these posts, a selfie ring light, and bought it! I felt extremely motivated about the future of the business.

How is your business performing now?

I have made US $1,304.98 with this only store, and I believe this will increase in the future.

What is your product strategy?

My niche is quite wide as the store originally had a variety of products. Still, I keep adding more: I try to see what is new that can be interesting for my customers. And obviously, when it comes to seasonal products, I always import them to have them available for buyers.

When adding new products, I follow AliDropship’s guidance to see the items’ potential. I always check the number of sales the product has had, the shipping cost, customer reviews, and the sellers’ rating.

And also, I’m using several more product-related solutions that are heavily automated and save me a lot of time. So far, I have been using the Import List Products and also have tried the AliDropship Premium Products. I liked the Premium Products more, however, as they seem to be more complete. Their descriptions have more content, which helps you get a better SEO ranking (I check and improve it with Yoast SEO).

How do you promote your store?

Mainly, I run Facebook ads and advertise the winning products I was offered by AliDropship when I bought the Premium store.

Interestingly, there is a different customer segment for every product I am advertising. I had purchases from male teenagers for a certain product, as I had from 35-50 year old women for another kind of product. As my store has a wide variety of products, ads targeting gets really crucial.

What can you say about managing your low-investment business on a daily basis and planning your further strategy?

It’s a part-time project, as I already mentioned, so I spend about 3 hours a day on the business. The most time-consuming task for me is creating unique product descriptions, and I view the creation of attractive content for product pages as my most difficult challenge. To deal with it, I search for similar products in other stores, and use them as an inspiration.

I am keen to register my business officially: it seems to be easy, even though I don’t know all the legal requirements yet. My next goal is to increase my sales and launch another store as I would like to make a living from this business. I am supported by my friends and relatives who like the products, the prices, and the look of the website in general.

Overall, even though my life hasn’t changed a lot yet, I am sure this enterprise is worth trying. It is a low-investment business and once you find the path, you become successful!

Hi, I’m Tammy, a part-time liquor store employee from Australia, and I run a business from home in my spare time 🙂

I’m 26 years old and have always had just a standard casual or part-time job. My current half-time employment works for me because I love having a lot of time to myself to play video games, draw and read. Obviously, that doesn’t pay the bills though, so, I needed to find a way to make extra money while still having the luxury of having time for myself.

How did you start running a business from home?

It only began 6 months ago. Before this, I have never had my own business, as well as previous experience in marketing or ecommerce.

I was just doing some online research on the best ways to make money at home. As I just kept seeing the word “Dropshipping” everywhere, I decided to look further into it. After researching for so long, I told myself it’s time to bite the bullet and get into it. I was back and forth with other dropshipping companies, but after looking into all the pros and cons, chose the most fitting one with the best starting price.

I purchased AliDropship original plugin and set up everything myself by following the easy instructions. There’s loads of YouTube videos to help whenever I get stuck on something. I also eventually purchased a few of the add-ons to help increase sales, too.

How and when did your first sale happen?

It was in my first month (I couldn’t believe it)! I was shocked! The customer purchased 3 things and I panicked! Haha but it was super easy to process the sale so that felt great!

It gave me confidence to keep going. I didn’t get another sale for another month later, but I was honestly surprised the first one happened so quickly!

I still have only 1 store, but I think I’m confident enough to open up another one, now, to double my income!

Sometimes I might have a day or 2 without sales, maybe even 3 days, and I start to lose faith in my business. I just tell myself that this happens from time to time and I just need to keep posting on social media to show everyone what my website has to offer. It usually works and then I get a sale!

What’s your product strategy for your store?

For my first store, I decided to dropship the items that I was interested in. I know that isn’t always a good idea, but I knew the genre well and knew how to advertise in ways that would entice myself to buy. So, to filter out the proper products, I just spent a lot of time searching for specific items and viewing all the reviews left for them.

After I added the first bunch of products to my store, AliExpress now knows what products I’m looking for. So, the platform recommends a lot of great items. A few times a week I’ll spend a while going through recommended products and making sure they’ve sold a decent amount so I know it’s popular enough to add to my store.

For pricing, I use the recommended formula I found on the AliDropship forum. I like to make at least AUD$10-$20 (Australian Dollars) from one item. Sometimes it can be more depending on the product. I found out that most of my customers are either American or British. And as their dollar is a lot stronger than Australian, they tend to spend the most at my store.

How do you promote your store?

Well, first of all, I read all of the emails from AliDropship that include tips on how to increase sales 🙂

Before I even made my first sale, I had made an Instagram account. I just started following people who are interested in the genre of products I am selling. I also made a Facebook account and shared my product posts in Facebook groups with similar interests. It has proven to be very successful!

Now, I’m pursuing the same strategy. I mainly promote the business with Instagram posts. Instagram is amazing for marketing a certain audience. I just searched certain hashtags related to my products and found out very quickly who was interested in the same type of things I was selling. So I followed a lot of them, and most of them followed back and bought from my store.

Every now and then I’ll also do a paid Facebook ad which also covers Instagram as well, and share my product posts in like-minded Facebook groups. Even though Instagram is the most efficient channel for me, I like that Facebook ads show up on Facebook Marketplace, inboxes, videos, stories and everywhere on Instagram as well!

Facebook marketing doesn’t cost a great deal. I usually spend about AUD$40-50 a month on ads, but then I’ll have a week or 2 with no ads to see the difference in sales. I’ve found that I get a huge increase in Instagram followers when I have an ad running, but the sales usually come from those who have viewed my website a few times and then finally decide to make a purchase. So my main goal is to build my following so I can create free posts to entice them.

In terms of daily management, how do you run a business from home?

In the beginning, I was spending around 10 hours a day on building my website. This definitely wasn’t necessary, but I had a lot of time on my hands and I just got carried away with the excitement of creating a cool website.

Now, I probably spend about 1-3 hours a day, just to reply to customer questions, process sales, check tracking and sometimes update things on my website.

The most time-consuming part is usually just replying to FB/Instagram comments and emails. My customers love the customer service I provide (as they’ve mentioned in my website reviews) so I like to make sure I reply to everyone. Sometimes, there can be a lot of questions and trying to find the right answers for every one can take some time.

When it comes to difficult customers, I just try to stay positive. I do get a lot of emails enquiring about when their package will arrive. AliExpress shipping can sometimes be quite slow, yeah. So I just make sure to be as positive as possible, apologise for any inconveniences and try to give them as much information as I can. They all usually understand and are happy to wait a while longer for their items.

Did the decision to launch and run a business from home change your life somehow?

Well, I was very excited to register my business officially, it didn’t cost much. Now, I have a lot more money to play with! I am saving money as well as spending on things that I’ve always wanted. My plans are to open up another store very soon! (Still tossing up between a few niche ideas)

My mother (56 years old) has just decided to purchase AliDropship plugin because of my success. She’s just starting out this month, but her website is looking great!

What can you advise our readers – those who already run their stores and those who didn’t start the business yet?

For those who already run a business from home – Keep going!! If you’re not making much sales just yet don’t give up. Don’t overcrowd your website with too many items. Make sure to have a social media presence! And the most important part is to know your target audience.

For those who haven’t started yet – It’s the best choice I’ve ever made! The hardest part of the whole thing is choosing what to sell, try not to delve into a niche that isn’t very popular, go for what sells the most on AliExpress and try to keep your website thematic. 🙂

Hi, my name is Arik Azuelos. I am an owner and a manager of an online retail store in Montréal, Canada.

What was your background before you began dropshipping fashion items?

I was introduced to the fashion retail world by my parents at a very young age. In a way, I have been in the fashion industry since I was 8 years old.

As a grownup, I used to work very close to my parents as they built their stores from the ground up. I started as a salesman and a manager in my parents’ retail boutiques in Montreal and Florida. It started with men’s stores (suits, shirts, ties, sweaters, shoes and complete men accessories) and women’s fashion, from evening dresses to beachwear.

I became an excellent salesman and was quite efficient when it came to choosing new styles for each coming season as well for men’s and women’s clothing. I always had a keen interest in online stores but never knew my way around building websites or creating the traffic many online stores would need to succeed.

After becoming a customer of several online stores myself and gaining some shopping experience, I knew I could potentially grow in this industry. If I only applied all of my retail store manager expertise to the platform of an online store…

I’ve always had an undying curiosity to see how it all worked. Every time I would make a purchase myself from any of the online stores I buy from, the interest was there. It always seemed fascinating to me to buy an item online as opposed to buying in a store as my customers did every day. I had heard of dropshipping back in 2014 but it seemed complicated at the time.

What helped you make the decision to try dropshipping fashion clothes?

After that discovery in 2014, I became actually interested. To keep myself updated on future ideas with regard to dropshipping fashion, I subscribed to various email lists. I kept researching on how to find the best niche, where to source products to launch a successful store. That’s how I discovered AliDropship in 2018.

From what they were offering, I learned how to build and scale an online store that would suit my needs. With all the minor details taken care of, I could eventually build the business thanks to AliDropship plugin which I consider to be the key to my business success.

With AliDropship’s guidance I have been able to learn things about the online business I never thought I could on my own. And my online store knowledge and growth expands everyday as I continue to thrive and succeed just as my parents did in their retail business.

Do you remember the first sale made from your online store?

Yes, it was a month after my official opening. I worked endless hours selectively choosing, importing, editing and carefully managing my stores to look their best. It took me many hours and many questions on how to perfect my vision of the perfect store.

And several of my cousins, family members and close friends wanted me to succeed and were very impressed with my finished online store. So they decided to support me this way! They bought stuff they loved and kept encouraging me ever since.

It was pretty cool to see money appearing in my PayPal account. But the most awesome part was how easy it was to complete and fulfill the order since everything in the store was automated.

How does your business perform now?

I now own 2 stores. Don’t want to tell or show much, but the orders are flowing – that’s for sure!

How do you manage and promote your stores?

I rely on my own experience in retail sales and clothing to pick the perfect items. After trial and error, I went from a men’s store to a woman’s store because I felt women are better online consumers.

I search for suppliers consistently to meet my desired fashion tastes on AliExpress. Every day, I’m on AliExpress, looking for the products that have great results and great reviews.

It only takes me about 2 hours a day to manage my stores, though. During this time, I carefully select winning products, import them, edit their pages and plan the advertising. I promote the products on Instagram and Facebook, and it costs me about $100 per week.

Lately, I’ve been thinking about creating a contest on my Instagram page to win 500$ spending spree on my website. I look at it as a 500$ advertisement to create an even more exciting buzz to my existing store.

The growing competition in the women’s online shopping segment is the main and most difficult challenge for me. Still, I try to not get discouraged! I research and reevaluate what I’m doing, and then I target more specific women audiences. I’m lucky as I didn’t have any ‘difficult’ customers, but I would deal with them as I did in my retail stores: the customer is always right.

Did you register your business officially?

Not yet: as of now I only have a .com website. Still, I’m aware that registration is not expensive or complicated here. You just need to sign a few papers as part of an application, and that’s it. Incorporating a business is more expensive, takes a little longer but that would be the 2nd most effective way to grow your business.

How has your life changed?

I enjoy my dropshipping stores very much and I feel there is so much more to discover. For now, I would say I feel more experienced in the online business which is what I wanted for so long. As a future plan, I want to go to China for ‘product hunting’. The idea is to find the perfect niche item/gadget that is yet unknown to the public world at large. I receive continuous support from my friends and family: they think it’s great and they view it as a mini Amazon venture.

What can you advise our readers?

Find something – a product that you love to either buy or use – and make it into your own niche product!

Hi, I’m Messaoud, a 30 year old Algerian now living in the Czech Republic. I’m an CNC programmer and blogger who enjoys home and garden DIY.

How did you start your no fee dropshipping journey?

When I started, I had no experience in ecommerce or trade. I just liked the dropshipping business model because it’s low risk, and its starting costs are not big. You don’t need to buy products and rent a store – you don’t lose money!

I added some very good gadgets and tools for home and garden in my store – I liked them and bought them myself and posted them in my Facebook group. And people liked them, too, and ordered! This is how it happened.

So… this is how you promote your no fee dropshipping business?

Yes, social media is my best promo channel. I only use Facebook and promote my products through my group and with paid ads sometimes. But I don’t pay a lot for ads – $5-15 per month only.

Also one of the addons I bought after my first sale is Social Rabbit. I have been using it from the very beginning of my business. It helps me promote my products and I can recommend it if you want to save time.

And how does your business perform now?

I have only one store, but it is about products I know and understand well.

I choose products for it from this database with winning products. My package only costs $29, and it’s an excellent tool to add products to a store, a cool addition that saves me time. I use recommended prices when I import products from there. I really think this tool is a must for successful dropshipping.

What can you tell about managing your business in general?

I registered it legally. So it’s all official, I will pay taxes 🙂

Every day it takes me not more than 2 hours to manage my store. In this time I place orders, follow up shipping statuses, send emails and see what products I can add. Talking to buyers takes the most time. But if there is any trouble I try to give a voucher or a coupon or a product for free and make things better.

Any words of inspiration for our readers?

If you think about dropshipping and have fear of trying, please just start and you will not lose anything. You don’t need to pay a subscription every month if it’s an alidropship store… and if you don’t earn today, you will earn tomorrow!

How Two Work From Home Moms Made A $1M/Year Store During The Pandemic

There isn’t a thing that a work from home mom can’t do. Anna and Maria, two AliDropship’s employees, teamed up to launch and skyrocket an outstanding dropshipping store while staying on maternity leave and dealing with the lockdown. Anna found a moment for a little chat – and told this story in detail!

Hey, this is Anna speaking 🙂 I’ve been working for AliDropship since 2017 as a digital marketing specialist who promotes dropshipping stores and tests various advertising strategies. Earlier, I’ve shared my insights on Facebook ads targeting, Google Shopping, setting up a store from scratch – go and take a look!

In summer 2019, my life took a whole new wonderful turn: I became a mother!

I kept working part-time, however – and in the spring of 2020, together with my colleague Maria, we managed to create a dropshipping store that now brings over $100K A MONTH!

Mostly, yes, even though she visits the office whenever possible. And as an experienced mother, she’s a pro at multitasking 🙂

Maria went from a product importing/editing freelancer to a full-scale marketer, and I couldn’t have been more grateful to her for basically being my right hand. Now, Maria is responsible for creating and picking ad creatives, making perfect product pages, editing and updating product assortment, and even social media management.

And together, you created this Auto Merch project…

Yes, exactly. It has started as a regular Premium Store: a dropshipping website that is developed and managed within AliDropship until it becomes profitable, and then gets available for copying. So the idea is, anyone can get an exact copy of such a website – and even our pre-tested marketing materials – to repeat our strategy and achieve great results, too.

Of course, we wanted to create a super cool website that everyone will be happy to get – but got carried away a bit 😀 Just check out its DAILY performance!

The Automerch daily performance

First things first, how is The Auto Merch made from the technical point of view?

The Auto Merch is built on WordPress and powered with AliDropship original plugin. We use the plugin’s functionality to the fullest and bombard the developers’ team with our ideas on how to make it better 🙂

Thanks to the plugin, we do tons of things in a blink of an eye:

  • Import new products to keep our product range wide and relevant
  • Process orders in 2 clicks, literally
  • Edit product pictures (remove sellers’ logos, add our ‘sale’ stickers) with the built-in Image Editor
  • Analyze traffic and sales data through the Reports tab
  • Create coupons for different promo channels and remarketing campaigns
  • Deal with sellers super conveniently (sometimes, we have a separate supplier per every variation of one and the same product)

So definitely, it’s a time-saver which is a huge blessing since both Maria and I can work only 4-5 hours a day.

We use a bunch of other AliDropship solutions to automate the business process even more:

It lets us upload our whole product catalog on Facebook and connect Facebook pixel to the website. Therefore, in Ads Manager, we can easily track the buyers’ actions, create new audiences, analyze campaigns, and do remarketing.

We increased the average purchase volume MORE THAN THREE TIMES thanks to it as we found just the right products to offer together with any purchased item.

It helps us get back the store visitors who have changed their minds at the very last moment and left the store empty-handed.

It’s a great helper for Maria because it generates quality content for social media, boosts posts’ engagement, and lowers down the ads’ cost.

With its help, we can easily test the performance of multiple product page variants and pick the one that converts best.

Why cars? How did you choose this niche?

I wanted a challenge! 😀 To be honest, I know nothing about cars at all.

I followed the ‘reverse’ niche choice strategy and started with defining my target audience. We were looking for some men-oriented products because these are buyers whose shopping behavior and psychology I understand well.

But you know what?

The majority of our buyers are women anyway! 🙂

Wasn’t the store influenced by the pandemic?

It was – but in the way we didn’t quite expect 🙂

We thought shoppers would start saving money and buy less, but… For many people (me included!), online shopping turned into a ‘therapy’ to cope with the lockdown and isolation. It’s a form of an entertainment and a pastime now, so customers are okay with buying products that aren’t even the first priority. And with everyone going online, I’d say we have an even larger customer segment now.

Due to the pandemic, many car owners are spending more time with their vehicles. It’s a safer way to move around, and it’s a great way to travel within your local area, relax and ‘recharge’ in a secluded place. Of course, that means there is more attention paid to equipping the car in a proper way – and therefore, we have more customers interested in rethinking and rearranging the things they keep in their car. That’s where all sorts of our car organisers come into play!

So, you picked a niche that’s unfamiliar to you. How are you choosing products, then?

Oh, my absolute favorite strategy is to sell items that are actually useful and problem-solving. First, they are easy to promote because you can physically demonstrate solving a buyer’s problem in an advertisement. Second, they are simply great if you want to sell multiple items per order. Such items are commonly purchased as a gift for friends and family.

And even though I’m not really familiar with the niche itself, I know the product picking algorithm very well! Here’s what we do to create a killer product range:

  • Find the buyers’ feedback wherever possible: AliExpress, Amazon, Facebook…
  • Read their reviews super carefully and pay close attention to the ones with real-life photos
  • Analyze competitors’ product pages and ads for the same item
  • Find out the average product price on the market to see if we can triple the original seller’s price: this is necessary to compensate for the advertising costs.

And the strategy of suppliers’ evaluation is well-tested, too:

  • Research their page to learn the rating and actual buyers’ opinions
  • Make sure both the seller and the product has a rating of 4*+
  • Check if the buyers’ photos match the images posted by the seller
  • Use AliDropship extension to see if there are similar products offered by other sellers
  • Make sure the seller has some affordable shipping option with tracking available.

And what about your promotional strategy?

Oh, buckle up 🙂

We pay a loooooot of attention to improving a product page BEFORE we launch a promo campaign and start driving traffic to this page. It’s an absolute must to:

  • Optimize the page and reduce the images’ size to make it load faster
  • Fill the image gallery with high-quality photos from multiple angles
  • Make sure the product variations (if any) are clear and understandable
  • Write a catchy description
  • Set proper prices
  • Import at least 35 client reviews with photos

With so many things to work on, it’s cool we can run split tests and check which exact texts / prices / variations work best for the buyers. Eventually, the store gets the highest converting product pages!

Then, we analyze the potential target audience through researching Amazon reviews and users’ comments under competitors’ Facebook posts. Also, we use Breakdowns in Facebook Ads Manager to check the users’ demographic data.

And when it finally comes to advertising, we invest most of our marketing budget into paid Facebook ads as they work best. It’s the 80/20 principle: 80% of the budget is spent on the channels that are already proven to convert well, and 20% goes on testing new strategies. There is, actually, a smaller segment of buyers who come from email marketing and organic traffic from social media and Google. We plan to also try advertising on Google and launch Pinterest and TikTok promotions.

To measure the ads’ efficiency, we also use Ads Manager and Google Analytics to check CTR and CPA.

So… how can a work from home mom deal with such diverse and critical tasks?

Like I said before, the AliDropship plugin is responsible for the ‘boring’ tech stuff, so it leaves us enough time for the creative part. The plugin’s autofilling feature makes orders’ processing a super quick task to complete, and our customer support efforts are not so time-consuming, too. We’re keeping our buyers updated on the order status / tracking info with the automatically generated emails, so it’s not a big deal. That means, I can focus on promoting the store and optimizing the marketing strategy.

As a work from home mom, I have not more than 4 hours every day to dedicate to our ads strategy and analytics. Here’s how the whole routine looks:

  • I wake up (the first one in my family!) and check sales reports and the running campaigns from my phone
  • While my coffee is getting ready, I think what we can improve in the campaigns
  • It’s time to make breakfast for my husband and my son Ted! Meanwhile, I’m messaging Maria to discuss the daily plans and goals
  • My husband is off to work, and my morning routine with Ted begins – at the same time, I’m launching new promo campaigns 🙂

And then, it’s everything at once – working, cleaning the house, spending quality time with Ted… He’s always my +1 on daily meetings!

The most time-consuming part is analyzing the ads performance. Sometimes, it’s so tricky to decide: should we give a campaign a chance, or should we switch it off when its efficiency is dropping. Of course, ads themselves are an uneasy part, too: 90% of our ads are videos, and you need to pick source material and then edit and process it.

Maria spends lots and lots of time managing the social media accounts as she needs to answer all messages and comments. Her product page improvement efforts take hours, too, as she needs to analyze competitors’ actions and optimize lots of details on the pages.

Any final words of advice to our readers?

The absolutely most important thing is that DROPSHIPPING IS NOT DEAD! I’ve been talking about this since 2017, I guess 🙂 And now, the industry prospects and the future of ecommerce look brighter than ever because everyone’s going online. Don’t be afraid to start now: it’s not too late, and the timing is great! Analyze your business performance, give it the best you can, and NEVER give up!
